The GIS Technician oversees operational Geospatial Services support to BCER staff including spatial data analysis, cartographic production, systems training, documentation and responses to spatial data inquiries. The position is responsible for responding to inquiries from external agencies, industry and clients related to BCER GIS applications and data using the current ESRI ArcGIS technology platform or geospatial solution.

Reporting to the Manager of Geospatial Services, the position is responsible for assessing and prioritizing the BCER’s operational GIS service requests, ensuring that requests for GIS support are dealt with effectively and efficiently by the appropriate GIS resource.

Temporary, 12-month term

Closing Date: 11p.m., May 29, 2024

Salary: $62,493 to $70,794

An additional 10% Job Family Market Multiplier will be added to the posted salary.
An additional 2.93% Service Improvement Allocation will be added to the posted salary.
An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for northern location.
